Enugu State Government on Monday announced it’s plan to establish a new Campus of the Enugu state College of Nursing Science in Oji River explaining that the state had secured the accreditation and upgrade of the College with establishment of four campuses .
It was also announced that three out of four kidnappers that attacked the College had been arrested, and one is at large.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr Yomi Jaiye made that known during a meeting with the management ,staff, students and other stakeholders of the College at the College auditorium , Oji River.
He restated his earlier appeal to the students to go back to school, reassuring them of the state government’s commitment to providing security and revamping the college .
Dr. Jaiye said four campuses of the College of Nursing Science were going to be established,with main Campus ( Campus 1 in Parklane).while Campus 2 is in Awgu and Campus 3 will be established in Oji , and Campus 4 in Nsukka.
He said the College of Health Technology, Oji River, which he described as the oldest health training institution in South East, would not be neglected by the Peter Mbah Administration.
He regretted the kidnapping incident that took place recently in the College and reassured the state government ‘s commitment to providing security in the College. He therefore appealed to the students to return to school as necessary measures had been put in place to provide security to them.

He said the State Government was building a 260 Type 2 Hospital in 260 wards and that would create jobs for the students. He commended the students for their dedication and commitment in their studies, saying in no distant time, the College will will be completely revamped.
He appealed to the traditional ruler of Oji- and the whole community to protect the project and see it as their own.
In his speech, the Provost of the College, Dr. Lazarus Ezugwu, commended Governor Mbah for approving the revamping of the College. He said he had the hope that the lost glory of the institution would be restored soon.
Dr. Ezeugwu also confirmed that security had been strengthened around thesincere institution and Oji River in general.
