Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokum has ordered the deployment of substantial resources to augment the manpower of the Benue State Command, to ensure swift rescue of medical students kidnapped in Otukpo , Benue state while traveling to Enugu for annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students.
The IGP who condemned the kidnapping said it’s truly appalling, callous, and unacceptable.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said , the IGP’s initiative encompasses the mobilization of additional tactical units from the FID-STS and FID-IRT, deployment of advanced helicopters and drones, as well as the use of specialized tactical vehicles to facilitate the search and secure the safe return of the victims.
