Nigerian former boxing champion, Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has blamed the National Sports Federations (NSF) and the Federal Government for the country ‘__athletes absymal performance at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympic games.

Okoronkwo made this allege while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, alleging that NSF and the federation has been engaging unproductive personality into sports management in the country.

He said, “this is one of the reasons for team Nigeria anticipated failures in this 2024 Paris Olympics Games.

“Last Month, I told Nigeria Boxing Federation that they should not expect any medal in “Boxing”, some people thought otherwise.

“Because I was against the unholy act of the denying grassroot boxers the opportunity to represent Nigeria after most of them defeated all their opponents by knock out.

“Gassroots boxers particularlly, from South East and Borno State did excellently well during Olympics trial conducted at Lagos by defeating their opponents by knock out,

“Now it has happened and it is also happening in other sports.which means that the official does not understand how to win,” Okoronkwo said.
