UN to provide technical assistance to Enugu

United Nations Resident and Humanitarian coordinator, in Nigeria,  Mohamed Malick Fall says, the UN will assist Enugu State with technical assistance and remodel it’s programmes where there are. gaps, applauding the  state government for improving on various sectors, especially in human capital development.

He made that known, Saturday, July 13, while fielding questions from newsmen after tours of some health and water facilities( completed and ongoing  projects)in the state..

He commended the state Governor for his visions and leadership styles, saying that that leadership is the ability to manage the meager resources to achieve a mighty result.m as

The UN coordinator visited the type 3 Primary healthcare centre , Agbogwugwu in Awgu Local Government Area, the Type 2 primary healthcare under construction at Otukwu, Emene, Enugu East LGA, and the 9th miles water scheme . They also Awhum water fall site in Udi LGA, among others.

Falls who was visibly impressed with what he saw, said, the model of governance in Enugu state will serve as a template for the UN to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, the body’s Resident and Humanitarian coordinator, Nigeria said governor Mbah has set the good example.

e said the UN will use its global mandate to give people the indication that good governance is possible if required efforts, resources and energy are put in place, as has evidently proven in Enugu state.

The UN boss in Nigeria  said Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah has undoubtedly changed the narrative. He , expressed optimism that Enugu will become the leading state in Nigeria in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030

He also lauded the Enugu Smart Green school initiative of Governor Mbah.,saying , it provides the pupils opportunity to learn in a conducive environment.
