Senator representing Enugu West senatorial zone, Osita Ngwu, has promised to partner the Enugu state fire service in it’s duties to save lives and properties.

He gave the assurance , when he received in audience delegations of the Enugu State Fire Service led by the Director, ,Engr Okwudili Ohaa, who paid him a courtesy visit ,Monday , January 8, 2024 in Enugu.
Engr Ohaa said they came to seek support from the senator on the improvement of the fire service and collaborations to bring positive changes to Enugu communities
He said they wanted the National Assembly members to support the State Fire Service, noting that the funding of the fire service should not be left to the State Government alone. He added that they had been visiting other House of Assembly members ,seeking partnership

He expresses confidence that their “collaboration with Senator Ngwu and other stakeholders will pave the way for comprehensive reforms and necessary support systems to fortify our fire service infrastructure.

“By leveraging this partnership, we can implement enhanced training programs, modernize our equipment, and streamline emergency response protocols, ultimately empowering our firefighters to act swiftly and decisively in safeguarding lives and property, Engr Ohaa said .
He thanked Senator Ngwu for his hospitality and genuine interest in working alongside the Enugu Fire Service to elevate the standards of the Fire Service.

Responding, Senator Ngwu commended the state Governor , Dr. Peter Mbah for his good Governance in the state. He said , being a player in the Oil and Gas Upstream, he knows the importance of a well funded Fire Service and he specifically commended Governor Mbah for the things he had been doing for the State Fire Service and said he will go in line with the policies if the state Government by providing Personal Protective Equipment, PPE and Fire fighting equipment to his constituency in the little way he can.
